What is  a Women's Fitness Specialist?

A Women's Fitness Specialist is a type of personal trainer with specialized training and knowledge in the nuances of women's health and fitness.  They understand the unique health and physical challenges women face with hormonal changes, pregnancy, premenopausal, perimenopause, menopause, post menopause and PCOS, etc.

 

While a general personal trainer can work with anyone to achieve fitness goals,  a Women's Fitness Specialist tailors fitness programs to address the specific needs of women at various life stages, ensuring a supportive and effective approach to achieving fitness goals.  And unlike most Women's Fitness Specialist, we're also Certified Personal Trainers!

 

Key Differences:

  • Specialized Knowledge:

    Women's Fitness Specialists have in-depth knowledge of how fitness interacts with women's health, including neuromuscular, skeletal, and endocrine factors. 

  • Program Design:

    They tailor workout programs to address the specific needs of women, such as post-partum recovery, hormonal changes, or age-related factors. 

  • Holistic Approach:

    Women's Fitness Specialists may also provide guidance on nutrition and overall wellness, not just fitness training. 

  • Client Focus:

    They may be particularly well-suited to working with women who are beginners or have specific health concerns, as their specialized knowledge allows them to provide tailored support and guidance.

In essence: A Women's Fitness Specialist is a personal trainer with a deeper understanding of women's health and fitness needs, enabling them to create more effective and personalized training programs for female clients. And we're also Certified Personal Trainers!

What does Certified Nutrition Coaching look like?

There is a difference
 between a personal trainer who calls themselves a nutrition coach (without the training and credentials) who gives general advice vs. an actual Certified Nutrition Coach who possesses the nutritional training and credentials.  

 

Working with Happy Healthy Naked means you get a Certified Nutrition Coach to assess your diet and get you on the right track to achieving your health and fitness goals.  You can do all the workouts you want but if your nutrition on track, you simply won't get the results you're aiming for.   

 

Key ways nutrition coaching can be helpful – You gain the understanding and knowledge about what nutrition works for your own unique situation, whilst gaining the tools to learn how to apply it to your life everyday life.  Learning how to make your nutrition work best for you whilst creating optimal habits at the same time can be pretty empowering!   

 

As a Certified Nutrition Coach, our focus is to understand and consider your overall lifestyle, to optimize your health and/or performance.   At Happy Healthy Naked, we combine Nutrition & Fitness Coaching expertise with planned and regular 1:1 support and accountability to reach goals.

  • Be super specific about what you are looking for: start with answering the following three questions – 1. What are your goals? 2. What area do you most need help with? What does success look like after working with this person?

  • Qualifications and titles aren’t everything: but are indicators to assist you with determining the level of expertise and competency an individual has to assist you with your nutrition, health and performance.

  • If choosing a nutrition or health coach, go for one who is certified: to know that your coach has undergone the relevant training, meets rigorous evidence based standards of practice and undertakes required continual professional development

  • Be mindful of choosing based on popularity: whilst the popularity of a nutrition/health coach/personal trainer may be an indication of their success with clients, it can also be an indication of good PR. Whilst they are not independent of one another, it’s just worth being mindful of!
